To Be Told comes from the experiences, inspiring stories, and relationships among churches and leaders from the Red del Camino Network for Integral Mission in Latin America (www.lareddelcamino.net) and from communities of faith around the globe.
In strategic partnership with The Work of the People (www.twotp.com) a global community of artists and creative storytellers, To Be Told aspires to capture these compelling Kingdom stories and communicate them in ways that provoke deep questions, challenge paradigms, inspire hope and move us all towards a more passionate participation in God’s plans to make all things new.
These stories emerge from the context of divine connections facilitated by Del Camino Connection (DCC) among the churches of the Red del Camino network movement.
To Be Told is a dynamic and ongoing alternative teaching series that seeks out the hidden stories of hope that are revealing God’s Kingdom here on earth. The series will provide churches with creative tools to help guide their outreach efforts in ways that operate out of a distinctive Kingdom framework, grow authentic community, and reveal the true hope that comes from practicing the presence of Kingdom.
To Be Told DVD curriculum includes:
Video modules. Stand-alone video testimonials convey truths of God’s message and mission of restoration and hope. These video modules are designed to be used individually or together in a variety of creative packages that churches can implement in their services and other teaching venues.
Guides for group processing. Discussion guides provide questions designed to accompany churches and small groups that will deepen understanding of the themes explored and stimulate critical reflection towards action.
Web-based social networking. Parts of the video project will be placed on various social networks, as a part of a viral strategy to communicate these powerful stories on a wider scale. Interacting with other people via the web will help provide new insights and new ways of thinking, relating and acting so that align we can better align ourselves with God´s restorative plans.
Production & Direction
All creative arts & video resources for filming and production is provided by The Work of the People (TWOTP). This includes: narrative direction & creative conceptualizing as well as all aspects of production and post production. We are grateful that TWOTP is offering actual production services at 50% of real costs.
We are seeking supporters to invest in this project by helping us cover all production-related costs, including logistics (transportation, lodging and meals). To Be Told is a mission we can only accomplish together with friends who are committed to this creative communications and teaching initiative.
By the end of 2008 To Be Told plans on releasing its first DVD curriculum. The curriculum, which will be part of the on-going To Be Told series, will reorient the church’s understanding of mission around God’s mission (Missio Dei) for total restoration of His creation. This first of 5 thematic modules contains 4 elements (i.e. visual liturgy, creative teaching segments, relevant testimonies, facilitator’s guide) that can be used together as part of church-wide global mission or compasion and justice initiatives or separately in small group settings or serving teams to encourage discussion about particular issues or areas of concern. Filming for the To Be Told series has already begun and over 45 video segments are in the process of editing and production.
We are seeking individuals, churches, and foundations that believe in this initiative and that would like to partner with us in creating this innovative visual teaching series to spur the church on to faithfully and passionatley reveal God’s Kingdom in real, beautiful, and hope-filled ways.
